Our itinerary – Individually customizable
We would be happy to plan your own personal excursion through the south with you. Our southern tour is an idea of what a day with us could be like. We are always ready – even on the day of the excursion itself – to adapt the tour to your wishes, for example if you would like to spend more time with the turtles or simply want to stop spontaneously and explore a village or a beach.
Depending on where you are staying, we will pick you up from your hotel at around 8.30 am in a modern, air-conditioned SUV. During the drive along one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world, we will be happy to make various stops for you that you may not have heard of before, but which are no less worth seeing. You determine the key points of your tour entirely according to your own personal interests.

Vanille Park
If you are interested in tortoises, you should definitely visit this park. It is the world’s largest breeding site for Aldabra giant tortoises, some of which are over a hundred years old. You can feed and stroke the tortoises. There are also Nile crocodiles, monkeys, geckos and much more to see, so a visit is definitely worthwhile for animal lovers. The entrance fee for this nature park is not included in the tour price.
Grand Bassin
In Hindi Ganga Talao – is the largest Hindu pilgrimage site outside of India. According to legend, the lake was created from drops of the Ganges. In fact, in 1972, holy water from the Ganges was mixed with the lake water and it was declared a “holy lake”. Around half of Mauritians are Hindus, so this place plays a special role in the life of the island.
Around the crater lake you will find numerous temples, colorful statues of gods and small sacrificial shrines. You will also find the highest statue on the island here: Shiva at 33 m high.
Chamarel
When hunger strikes around midday, we will be happy to whisk you away to the original Creole cuisine of Mauritius in a small local tavern, which is clean and delicious, away from the large coaches. Continue to the Black River National Park, where you can see one of the most beautiful and highest waterfalls on the island as well as the natural phenomenon of the famous seven-colored earths. Do you like rum? On the way back, we will be happy to take you on a tour of the Chamarel rum factory, which is still in full operation at harvest time. And after you have enjoyed a rum tasting on site, we will drive you safely back to your hotel.

Our northern tour is an idea of what a day with us could be like. We are always ready – even on the day of the excursion itself – to adapt the tour to your wishes, for example if you want to store a little longer or spontaneously visit a museum.
Depending on where you are staying, we will pick you up from your hotel at around 8.30 am in a modern, air-conditioned SUV and drive to the capital of the island, Port Louis, where our excursion begins at the port of the new city and will show us an exciting contrast between colonial times and modernity.

Port Louis
After the first few steps, we are already in the middle of Umbrella Square, probably the most famous photo motif in this city. We continue along the Port Louis Waterfront to the Central Market, which offers fresh food of all kinds every day. At the same time, you can also pick up clothing, souvenirs and a first-class selection of spices to delight your shopping heart.
You can then stroll through the old town and admire colonial buildings or visit Aapravasi Ghat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can see one of the world’s first immigration points and learn about the history of colonialism at the Beekrumsing Ramlallah Interpretation Center next door.
Pamplemousses
About 30 minutes by car from Port Louis is Pamplemousses, which is world-famous for its botanical garden. It is the oldest botanical garden in the southern hemisphere and covers 37 hectares with tree species that have been cultivated over 250 years. You will find mahogany trees, snake trees and many more and can stroll through the park for hours.
However, the giant water lilies, whose leaves can even support the weight of a small child and reach up to 80 cm in diameter, are particularly famous. Right next door you will find the lotus pond, where you can try out the lotus effect for yourself.
Creole cuisine
Enjoy Creole cuisine at lunchtime with many dishes that are only available in Mauritius. Whether you are a fan of seafood, curries or palm heart salad, our guides will take you to local restaurants that are also frequented by locals away from the tourist trade.
